What is Advent?
Advent is the time when Christians remember Jesus came into the world and that He promised one day to return.
When does Advent start?
Advent starts on the nearest Sunday to 30th November and lasts until midnight on Christmas Eve.
What happens during Advent?
Christians across the world prepare to celebrate the arrival of the Lord into the world through the birth of His son Jesus Christ. Advent is a time to celebrate light in the midst of darkness.Â
At St Cuthbert’s we gathered together to light the first candle on our Advent Wreath. Father Mark with the help of Year 5 & 6 and our choir led us in a beautiful mass to celebrate such a wondrous time of year.
